Healing Vibes

The Healing Power of Music     Balm to the Soul and Mind

According to the Big Bang theory, the origin of life is sound and light. Beneath the surface, every one of us is composed of frequencies and vibrations, and when we lose connection with the harmonies that keep us healthy, we go in search of therapy - music therapy!

Winnie Rode is a German artist, soundtherapist, teacher in Buddhist Philosophy and Meditation, author of two books on Tibet and Bhutan. He has even served as the Dalai Lama’s personal bodyguard and security chief in Germany. Now based in Koh Samui, he will offer a unique form of healing with Tibetan singing bowls. ImageWhat happens in a singing bowl session?
The client lies on his/her back and different bowls are played and moved around the body as well as on the body if needed to tune the client’s harmonic frequency and clear the aura. It is deeply relaxing. Some may cry or laugh while others fall asleep. But the result is a sense of relaxation, joyfulness and physical well-being.

How do Tibetan singing bowls heal?
The bowls heal through sound waves that harmonise the brain and stimulate the body to rediscover its own frequency. The water in our cells vibrates to the low frequency like gamma, higher like theta and beta waves which the brain picks up. These waves release repressed emotions and stimulate feelings of joy and happiness. Once the body is synchronised and in harmony, it can then vibrate independently and that’s when healing occurs.

How did you become a singing bowl master?Image
I lived in Dharamsala (the Tibetan community center in northern India) in the 1970s and became an ordained novice monk at Drepung Loseling Monastery in Mundgod, southern India for two years. Back in Germany, I founded the Buddhist Center in Dortmund and later on in Diessen before preparing for my teacher degree in Buddhist Philosophy at the Buddhist Center in Hamburg.
I’ve worked as a therapist, I’m trained in Shamanism for 25 years and also wrote a book on traditional Tibetan medicine in the 1990s. As a "child" of the New Age movement sound was always with me.

Can specific bowls work to heal specific problems?
Yes. Insomnia, muscle tensions, stress, rheumatism, digest problems, detox, tinnitus, depression, broken heart, and many emotional issues. It is also very beneficial for pregnant women and the babies.

How many sessions does it take?
Some need only one session and gaining deep relaxation and inner peace and joy while joint problems, insomnia and tinnitus needs three to five sessions.
A session lasts for 60 to 70 minutes.
